The little reaper

My entry for 's contest.
I did this quite a long ago, but due to college i was able to submit this till now @-@

NAME: Marie Hoffen
AGE: 8 years old
HAIR COLOR: Red
EYES COLOR: Blue and red
LIKES: Strawberries, chocolates, sewing, her nanny, her mom, reading books, helping her mom, drawing, Disney movies () and cats.
DISLIKES: pink, broccoli, school, bitter medicines, math, cigars and annoying people.

Marie lives alone in a big mansion whit her nanny and her mom, who most of the times is bussy with her work, but still tries to spend some time with her daughter.
That's why she came up with the idea of helping her mother with her work, at first, mommy wasn't really pleased but due to Marie's insistence and her sewing skills, she gaver her a very special present:a little box with very special sewing needles.
Then she showed Marie a secret room that was filled with diferent kinds of dolls and toys.

"You see, everything has a soul, a spirit and there're different ways of represent them"

Marie had seed soul represented as light from candles, threads, flowers or plants, and in many other ways that she couldn't remember.

"Life isn't everlasting, there's a time when people needs to leave and move foward"

The little girl remembered people saying bad and really mean things about her mother and her work, but to her, mommy was the most admirable, wise, kind a fair person in the world.

Marie took a deep breath, she walked around the room watching the neverending toys. She suddenly stopped and stared at one doll, it had something different from the others. Marie took a needle from the book and used it to nail the doll right in the chest.
The courtains right behind her opened, showing the image of an old lady laying pacefully in her bed, then the image just vanished.

"You made the right choice" her mother was surprised by the talent of her girl " she was in pain, but now she's resting at peace and won't suffer anymore"

Marie smiled, she was happy of helping her mother.
Maybe in the future she could grow up and be just like her mother.

Instead of using the average reaper's weapon, she uses the special sewing needles.
Her mother likes to see her dressed as a cute little girl, but Marie hates that, that's why you can see 2 Maries in the picture:
The one dressed as a normal girl, she wears like that to make her moter happy, also, those are the clothes she wears for school.
The second one (the silhouette behind the normal one) is wearing her "reaper's clothes" and also is holding the box with the reaper needles. That's the kind of style Marie likes.
And no, she doesn't feel bad or guilty by helping her mother, She's a very conscious girl and her biggest wish is to be next Grim Reaper (now she's just a helper ^^ )

Done with a combination of the traditional way (using colors) with the digital one (photoshop)
